Briefly describe the materials and classification of glass fiber

The glass fiber can be divided into continuous fiber, fixed fiber and glass wool according to the shape and length; according to the glass composition, it can be divided into non -alkali, chemical, high alkali, medium alkali, height, high elastic modulus and alkali resistance ( Alkali) Glass fiber and so on.

The main raw materials for the production of glass fiber are: quartz sand, alumina and leaf wax stones, limestone, white clouds, boric acid, soda, luc -prize, fluorite, etc. The production methods are roughly divided into two categories: one is to directly make the melting glass into fiber; the other is to make the melting glass into a glass ball or stick with a diameter of 20mm, and then heat the melting in various ways to make the diameter of 3 ~ 80 μm fine fiber. The unlimited and long fiber made by the brushed method of the platinum alloy plate is called continuous glass fiber, which is commonly referred to as long fibers. Non -continuous fibers made of rollers or airflows are called fixed glass fibers, which are commonly known as short fibers.

Glass fiber is divided into different levels according to composition, nature and use. According to the standard level (see Table), the E -Class glass fiber is well used and is widely used for electrical insulation materials; S -class is special fiber.

The glass for glass fiber is different from the glass of other glass products. All glass composition for the fiber that has been commercialized is as follows:

High glass fiber

It is characterized by height and high modular amount. Its single fiber tensile strength is 2800MPa, which is about 25%higher than the tensile strength of alkali-free glass fiber. The elastic modulus is 86000MPa, which is higher than the strength of the E-glass fiber. Most of the glass reinforcement products produced by them are mostly used for military, space, bulletproof armor and sports equipment. However, due to the expensive price, it is not yet promoted in civilian use, and the world's output is about thousands of tons.

AR glass fiber

Also known as alkali -resistant glass fiber, alkaline -resistant glass fiber is a rib material for glass fiber enhancement (cement) concrete (GRC). It is a high -standard inorganic fiber. In non -inherited cement components, it is an ideal substitute for steel and asbestos. The characteristic of alkaline resistance is characterized by good alkali resistance, can effectively resist the erosion of high alkaline substances in the cement, strong grip, elastic modulus, impact, tensile, bending strength, non -burning, freezing, temperature resistance, temperature resistance resistance , Strong humidity change ability, superior cracking, anti -penetration performance, strong design, easy to form and other characteristics, alkaline resistance glass fiber is a new type of green and environmentally friendly enhancement in high -performance enhancement (cement) concrete Material.

D glass

Also known as low -aged glass, which is used to produce low -agent glass fibers with good strength strength.

In addition to the above glass fiber components, a new type of alkaline -free glass fiber now appears. It does not contain boron at all, thereby reducing environmental pollution, but its electrical insulation performance and mechanical properties are similar to the traditional E glass. In addition, there is a glass fiber with double glass components, which have been used in the production of glass wool. It is said that it also has potential in terms of FRP enhancement materials. In addition, there is a fluoride glass fiber, which is an improved alkaline -free glass fiber developed for environmental protection requirements. 7 common types of glass fiber: use and advantages

You can divide glass fibers into different types, depending on the proportion of raw materials used to them.

Here are 7 different types of glass fibers and their applications in daily products:

1. Alkali glass (A-glass)

Alkaline glass or sodium lime glass. It is the most widely used glass fiber type. Alkali glass accounts for about 90%of all manufacturing glass. It is the most common type, used to make glass containers, such as cans and bottles of food and beverages, and window glass.

Baked utensils made of sodium sodium and liquid glass are also a perfect example of A glass. It is reasonable, highly feasible, and quite difficult. A-type glass fiber can be repeated and softened multiple times, which is the ideal glass fiber type of glass recycling.

2. Alkali-resistant glass AE-glass or AR-glass

AE or AR glass represents alkali resistance, which is specially used for concrete. It is a composite material composed of oxide.

Oxidation is a hard heat -resistant mineral, which adds this glass fiber to concrete. AR-Glass provides strength and flexibility to prevent cracking concrete. In addition, it is not like steel, it is not easy to rust.

3. Chemical glass

C-glass or chemical glass is used as a surface tissue of the outer layer of the layer of the layer of the container of pipeline and water and chemicals. Due to the use of high -concentration of calcium borosilicate during the glass formula, it shows the maximum chemical resistance in the corrosive environment.

C-glass can maintain chemistry and structural balance in any environment, and has a high resistance to alkaline chemicals.

4. Electronic glass

Electronic glass (D-glass) fiber is commonly used for electrical appliances, cooking utensils, etc. Due to the low dielectric constant, it is also an ideal type of fiber glass fiber. This is because its ingredients contain triar dioxide.

5. Electronic glass

Electronic glass or E-glass fiber cloth is an industry standard that provides a balance between performance and cost. It is a light composite material that is applied in aerospace, marine and industrial environment. E-glass is the darling of commercial products such as planting machines, surfing boards and ships as the performance of fiber.

E -glass in glass wool fibers can make any shape or size with a very simple manufacturing technology. In pre-production, the characteristics of E-glass fiber make it clean and safe.

6. Structural glass

Structural glass (S glass) is known for its mechanical performance. Trademark name R-glass, S-glass and T-glass all refer to the same type of glass fiber. Compared with E -glass fiber, it has higher tensile strength and modular. This glass fiber is designed for national defense and aerospace industry.

It is also used for rigid ballistic armor applications. Because this type of glass fiber is high -performance, it is only used for specific industries with limited output. This also means that S-glass may be expensive.
